I. Colleges Against Cancer is holding a function called Relay for Life which is a marathon around Gullen Mall. For more information, please attend the Kick Off on Feb 7th, 2007
in Rm 289 SCB at 5:30-6:30pm. Food will be provided. You can also visit the website at http://www.acsevents.org/relay/mi/wsu
II. At Covenant House, we can tutor those who are applying for a GED at ages ranging from 13-22. We can also create presentations about STDs, abstinence, and dietary habits to present to the members of covenant house. You can receive 5 points for creating a presentation.
III. We are creating at team of 10 members to attend World Medical Relief Day. This will take place on April 11 for three hours in the morning. We will help package goods for those who are insured. For more information, please email us back.
IV. We will be having a tutor and student come speak to us about volunteering at ProLiteracy Detroit. At ProLiteracy Detroit, you can help teach those who have very minimal reading skills.
V. We will be going to the Detroit Science Center to see the Body Worlds Exhibit on Feb 17 at 10 am. We will go to lunch afterword. The cost for the exhibit is $20. Please sign up on the forum, www.amsa.wayne.edu
VI. I will be attaching the letter for the Cass Drive. This will be happening Feb. 19-23rd from 9am to 5pm. Sign up to work at the table will be on our website. You can receive 1 point per half hour with a max of 4 points. You can also receive 1 point per donation with a maximum of 5 points. On Febraury 26 we will be packaging all of the items in room 289 of the Student Center from 3-4pm. You can receive 2 points for packing.
VII. The physician panel will take place on Feb 28 from 5-8:30 pm in Bernath Auditorium. We will have doctors in the fields of ER, family practice, OBGYN, psychiatry and surgery. To be admitted into this event, you must donate a canned item.
VIII. Capuchin are Wed. from 4-6pm and Uno tournements are held on Thursdays from 2-4pm. Please sign up on the website in our forums.
IX. There is a research book that has been made that contains information about the different professors you can do research with on this campus. If you would like to see this book, please let me know so I can loan to you and I can keep track of who has it.
X. To all those new members, do not forget to pay the LOCAL fee of $15 to us. You must also join at the national level at www.amsa.org. When you receive your id please email that to me.
